Barry's Restaurant & Bar opened in November 2002 to rave reviews.
Located in the heart of the Garment District and just around
the corner from great shopping like Lord & Taylor on 5th Avenue,
John Barry's has quickly attracted a loyal clientele and has
become a neighborhood favorite.
Local
garment center architect, Steven Kratchman has transformed
the former "Alex & Max's" space into a beautiful gem with
open air, high vaulted tin ceilings and state of the art
30 foot mahogany bar. Just past the bar, the room opens
up into a warm, comfortable dining area.
The space also boasts an extremely high performance kitchen
/ catering complex, which enables him to maintain and
expand existing offpremise catering business. John Barry's
offers both individual take-out and catering for area
businesses from five to 300 people, while providing top
service and intimate atmosphere in the restaurant itself.

by the not-for-profit group, Art for Healing. The artwork showcases
both emerging and established artists, and is available for
sale. The art is frequently updated throughout the room, creating
